uHPLCs Ghost Buster Column can effectively remove impurities with low polarity and thus prevents interference from all kinds of ghost peaks. It is installed between the gradient mixer and injector, which helps remove not only the impurities in the mobile phase but also in the mixer and pipelines. Dimension: 4.0×20mm, suitable for ID 4.6mm HPLC column, Max. Pressure: 35 Mpa.

The ghost buster column can not only filter solid particles and trap ghost peaks in the conventional mobile phase but also trap ghost peaks containing cation pairs in the mobile phase, thus reducing the interference of unknown factors on the fractionation method and improving the accuracy of the analytical results.

There are many sources of ghost peaks, mainly from the mobile phase and pipeline〉 such as water has many ways to introduce impurities, the purification system itself, the introduction of storage containers and placed too long to cause bacterial growth, a variety of mobile phase additives (acid, alkali, salt), the system is no longer pure over time to produce contaminants, organic phase contaminants, mobile phase bottles and mixing process, and so on.

The ghost column and HPLC column principle are the same adsorptions; the difference is that the ghost column uses dead adsorption. Once the material adsorbed on the top of the ghost peak trap column will not be easily eluted down, the ghost column on weak polarity and non-polar material adsorption ability is very strong. It does not change the mobile phase composition (no ion pair reagents) of the packing, the instrument, and the mobile phase for secondary purification, effectively eliminating such contaminants, reducing the chances of ghost peaks, and extending the life of the column and instrument.

Note: The Ghost Buster Column will also absorb ions. Therefore, it is not recommended to use ghost columns for mobile phases containing ion-pair reagents.
